Workshop “Flower Garden” — DIY Program

On Wednesday, August 12, at 18:30, we invite you to the “Flower Garden” workshop, part of the DIY program, where together with artist and illustrator Yuliia Pokydko we will create original flowers using the stencil printing technique.

During the workshop, participants will work with paper, form, symmetry, and color to create their own fantasy flower step by step. First, each participant will design the silhouette of a plant and turn it into a stencil, then apply colors, experimenting with shapes and their combinations. In this way, the simple technique of stencil printing becomes a way to create your own image — from the first sketch to the finished print.

During the workshop you will:
– get familiar with the stencil printing technique;
– create your own original flower or a series of flowers, experimenting with form and color;
– learn how to use symmetry to create interesting shapes and compositions;
– at the end, combine your works into a shared “garden” of imaginary plants.

No prior experience or skills in stencil printing are required.

The event will take place on the 5th floor in the educational space of PinchukArtCentre. Participation is free. The number of spots is limited. Registration is required.

Yuliia Pokydko is an artist and illustrator. She works in her own technique of stencil printing with oil paints. She creates artist’s books, graphic series, and illustrations. The main theme of her artistic practice is nature. She holds a master’s degree from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture.

The DIY* program is a platform for bringing ideas to life, where people with different backgrounds share what matters to them, and the art center’s team helps turn these ideas into reality. It is a space for experimentation and collaborative creativity, where you can make something with your own hands and meet people with shared interests.
