Book Presentation on Zhanna Kadyrova and Public Discussion
On 22 October, PinchukArtCentre invites you to Bookstore Ye for the presentation of the first monograph dedicated to the work of internationally renowned Ukrainian artist Zhanna Kadyrova.
The publication spans more than two decades of the artist’s practice — from her early works to projects created since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The book brings together critical texts by international authors, Zhanna Kadyrova’s personal reflections, and different perspectives on her work, allowing readers to trace the evolution of her artistic language and the themes she explores.
The monograph was created in collaboration between PinchukArtCentre, the German art institution Kunstverein Hannover, and the artist herself, and published by Distanz. The book marks a continuation of Kadyrova’s long-standing collaboration with PinchukArtCentre and an important step in presenting Ukrainian contemporary art to international audiences.
The presentation will feature a public discussion dedicated to Zhanna Kadyrova’s artistic journey, the transformations of her practice, her experience of working during the full-scale war, and the process of creating the monograph.
Participants in the public discussion:
- Zhanna Kadyrova — Ukrainian artist, creator of the projects Palianytsia and Security Guarantees.
- Björn Geldhof — Artistic Director of PinchukArtCentre and co-editor of the monograph.
- Daria Shevtsova — Curator and Researcher at PinchukArtCentre, and author of one of the texts in the publication.
The event will also feature a video address by Christoph Platz-Gallus — Director of the German art institution Kunstverein Hannover, curator, and co-editor of the Zhanna Kadyrova monograph.
We invite you to join the conversation about Ukrainian contemporary art, its international presence, and the artistic practice of Zhanna Kadyrova.
